Dowen College: Our Son Not Involved In Sylvester Oromoni’s Death – Late Senator Buruji Kashamu’s Family Reacts

The family of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu has denied the involvement of their son in the death of a 12-year-old pupil of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, Sylvester Oromoni. Jnr.
In a statement issued by one Mutairu Kashamu for the family on Sunday, the late Lawmaker’s family confirmed that one of their sons, Michael Adewale Kashamu, was named among the suspected bullies of the deceased.

They however called for calm, backing the ongoing investigation into the matter by the Lagos State government.

According to the family, Michael Kashamu had no involvement in the death of Oromoni.

They stated that, “Our son, Michael Kashamu, had acted as a school father for the late Sylvester in his first session in the school.”

Adding that Michael had ceased to be the “school father” of the deceased when he was allegedly bullied.

It will be recalled that Sylvester Junior Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of Dowen College was reportedly beaten to death for allegedly refusing to succumb to pressure by fellow students to join a cult.

According to Naijanews, an uncle to the deceased, Perry Oromoni, took to Twitter to claim that his cousin was killed after he rejected attempts by some students in the school to initiate him into a cult group.

He stated his cousin mentioned five names responsible for his injuries before his death, confessing that they tried blending him into a cult.

The school, Dowen college denied the allegations, claiming that the deceased sustained injuries while playing football and was given immediate medical attention by the school’s resident nurse.

Cousin of Sylvester Junior, Perrie, then released the video on his conditions before he passed on.

12-year-old Slyvester was visibly wincing in excruciating pain in the video that was shared.
