Insecurity: NYSC Relocates To Temporary Camp In Kaduna Over Fear Of Bandits Attack

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly relocated its camp in Kaduna over the activities of bandit terrorists.

Naija News reports that the Director-General, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, in a statement said the camp for prospective corps members deployed to Kaduna in the Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation will hold at the Government College, Gwamna Road, Kurmin Mashi Kaduna, Kaduna State.

The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kaduna which is located along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway is at the outskirts of the city and in recent time has seen several activities of bandits who kidnap travelers for ransom.

The Catholic Seminary and Green Field University whose students were kidnapped recently is also located along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

The temporary camp in Kaduna for the Batch ‘B’ Stream I scheduled to open on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, is located within the Kaduna city metropolis.

Meanwhile, requests for changes in the date of graduation and Courses of study by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members would no longer be welcomed.

The service management announced this in a statement signed and released by the NYSC Director, Corps Mobilization, Mrs Ango V. on behalf of the Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim.

It was noted in the communique that the course of study and date of graduation will henceforth be included on the NYSC Certificate of National Service and Certificate of Exemption.

According to Ango, the decision was in line with the management’s resolve to standardize records and it will kickstart with the 2021 Batch ‘A’ service year.
