IPOB Issues Fresh Sit-At-Home Order Ahead Of Buhari’s Visit To Imo, Says He is Not Welcomed
The Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reportedly declared Thursday, September 9, 2021, as sit-at-home in Imo State.
President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit the Southeast state on that day.
The new directive was made known in a broadcast on Monday evening by IPOB-HDOS, Mazi Chika Edoziem.
The proscribed pro-Biafra group stated that Buhari is not “welcomed into Imo State, Biafra Land on Thursday, 9th September, 2021.”
According to him, “all the traditional rulers, all ndi iche and every Biafran should stay away from any ceremony organized by Hope Uzodimma to welcome him.”
He declared total lock down of Biafra on that day, Thursday 9th September, 2021.
Recall that Governor Hope Uzodinma had on Saturday told newsmen that Buhari would be in the state on Thursday to commission some projects.
The governor said Buhari will be visiting the state to commission some “significant projects” executed by his administration
He said: “While in Abuja, I secured approval for President Muhammadu Buhari to visit Imo on Thursday, Sept. 9, to commission some significant projects put together by the Shared Prosperity Administration.
“More to that, Imo has been able to attract additional support from Mr President on management of some ecological problems in the state.”
