Osun 2022: Why Adeleke may lose again – Ex-lawmaker, Funmilayo
A former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Funmilayo Olasehinde has reached out to Senator Ademola Adeleke, a governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be weary of political associates who are only interested in his political ruin.
The former legislator under the PDP while featuring on a political radio programme on Monday in Osogbo insisted that the family needed to put their house in order so that Senator Adeleke’s chances of becoming governor in 2022 will not be jeopardised.
Olasehinde who recently resigned her membership from the PDP stated that associates of the Adeleke family were creating problems for them within the party’s circles despite their generosity and popularity among the people of the state.
She revealed that she had sent messages to Deji Adeleke to counsel Senator Adeleke to come back to Osun from the United States of America in order to commence reconciliatory moves against aggrieved party members ahead of the 2022 gubernatorial elections in the state.
On why she resigned her membership of the opposition party in Osun, Olasehinde explained that unresolved crisis within the party was the motivation behind her action.
She added that despite several attempts by concerned leaders to mediate and make peace reign, the PDP in Osun was still marred in chairmanship tussle with no sign of resolution.
Recall that Senator Ademola Adeleke had contested as the candidate of the PDP in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election which he narrowly lost after a rerun polls with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adegboyega Oyetola.
Senator Ademola Adeleke who is currently residing in the United States is nursing aspirations to contest again in the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election against Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
